We have created a handy ✨ Figma template ✨ that you can use to quickly craft your own promotional assets for your SummerFest event!


Step 1 
Sign up for Figma using your UniMelb email address, then Install Figma and the Figma Font Installer.
Note: Figma works best in the Desktop app rather than in your browser.


Step 2 
Click on your department to download your SummerFest Figma Template. Inside the ZIP folder you will find a .fig file, and the fonts for you to install on your computer.


Step 3 
Install the font inside the ZIP folder you just downloaded.
Mac: Open the Font Book app and import the font
PC: Add the font to C:\Windows\Fonts folder or right-click on the font and click Install 

Step 4
Open the Figma desktop app and import the .fig file. To do this, click the blue +Create new button, then select Import, then select the .fig file which you have just downloaded.

Once your file is open in Figma, you will be able to edit the text on your template. Go to the Repeatable Assets frame and then press T to use the Text Tool, or click on the Text Tool in the bottom toolbar.

Edit the text to suit your event by adding in the name, date, time, location.

Click on the checkered image, and then go to the Inspector Panel on the right and click on the Fill property to change the image. Click on Choose Image to upload an image from your computer. If you don't have an image ready, check out some of these free resources.



Step 8
Change the background colour to suit your event. We have already provided the SummerFest colours for you in the template.  


Step 9

You can export all the frames by pressing CMD+E (CTRL+E on PC) and click Export to download to your computer. Or you can export specific frames by clicking on the frame and going to Export in the Inspector Panel on the right.  




Step 10

Send us your designs! You can do so by submitting a ticket in the CME Help Desk, leaving a comment on Teamwork, or by sending us an email at cme-support@union.unimelb.edu.au.

The Design team will review your graphics and make sure that they align with our brand guidelines. Once approved, you'll be able to start promoting! 🎉

We can also help by printing A1 posters adding your designs to the LCD screens around campus. If that is something that you'd like, just let us know! 💜
