Our logo is the icon by which we are recognised and remembered. We want to make sure we are looking good every time we step out, whether in print, online or on our merch. 


UMSU U-Device


The UMSU logo consists of two main elements – the letter U shape and the letters ‘UMSU’ inside it. The logo must always appear in this configuration and is not to be re-drawn or recreated in any other form. The logo must always be sourced from artwork available below.

Student Powered Logo

As a student-run organisation, we pride ourselves on being 'Student Powered' – By Students, For Students. We include the Student Powered logo on all digital, merch and print design. This lets students know that no matter if it is a BBQ, a collective, or anything in between, it is run by students. The logo helps remind students that their contributions are making positive changes to their lives at UniMelb.

UMSU Department co-branded logos

All UMSU Department logos incorporate the UMSU logo as part of their department. The UMSU logo needs to be prominently displayed on all material produced by UMSU or any UMSU Department.

This cheatsheet goes into all the specifics about correct colour usage and some handy tips to ensure UMSU looks great, no matter where we pop up!

How to use the logos

  • Have the logo at least 15mm high   

  • Make sure the logo has some space around it (at least half the width of the U-shape) so it’s not cluttered  

How not to use the logos  

  • Do not outline the logo  

  • Do not add text or rearrange elements in the logo  

  • Do not print the logo as a tint, a background image or watermark, i.e. no transparencies   

  • Do not stretch the logo or apply effects  

  • Do not change the colour – not even to rainbow
