UMSU Event Infrastructure Hire for Office Bearers (OBs)


UMSU Events offers a range of infrastructure that Office Bearers (OBs) can hire for free for their on-campus events. However, before hiring any equipment, OBs must complete a compulsory induction training to ensure safe and proper use of the equipment. This induction will be part of the 2025 OB Training.

Key Details:

  • Induction Requirement: All OBs must complete induction training before hiring any event infrastructure. This will be covered in the 2025 Inductions.

  • Pick-up and Return: Event Infrastructure does not offer delivery or pick-up services. OBs will need to meet Event Staff at the designated time outside the Info Desk, Level 1 – Building 168, to collect their equipment.

  • Availability: Equipment is subject to availability, with a "first in, first served" policy. To ensure availability, it's best to book as early as possible.

  • Office Hours for Pick-up: For events outside regular office hours (9 am - 5 pm, Monday – Friday), OBs must collect the equipment during office hours and are responsible for its storage and protection before and after the event.

  • Booking Process: To hire event infrastructure, OBs must either book through their Project Manager or via the Teamwork project for their event. Please note that equipment hire cannot be arranged without an active Teamwork project. You can find more details about the Help Desk and submitting a Teamwork ticket in the Help Docs.
