Date, Time and Location Style Guide
Follow these formats when displaying dates, times and locations:
Dates (Do not use ordinal numbers: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)
Correct usage examples:
- Wed 30 March
- Wednesday 30 March
- Wednesday 30 March 2025
- March 2024
- 27–30 March 2024 (Use an unspaced en dash: "–")
Times (Do not use ":00" for whole hours)
Examples of correct usage:
- 10.30am
- 12pm (Not "12:00pm")
- 10–10.30am (Use an unspaced en dash: "–")
- 10am–4pm (Use an unspaced en dash: "–")
- 1–2pm (not 1pm–2pm)
Locations (Include the room, level, and building name where possible)
Correct usage examples:
- Arts Lab, Level 1, Arts & Cultural Building
- UMSU Queer Space, Level 3, Building 168
- Market Hall, Student Precinct
