You can pay for your campaigns and events to reach more people via Facebook and Instagram. To do this, we first need a copy of the minutes from the committee meeting that passed the funds for this purpose. We’ll request this in your project so you know where to provide this information. If you haven’t had the funds passed just yet, that’s fine, but before we spend any money, we’ll need that documentation.
There are two main ways we can pay for more reach on Facebook and Instagram, and they can be ads or boosts. They operate slightly differently and the one you choose depends on the nature of your content and what you want it to do.
We can (and will usually anyway) discuss this on a case-by-case basis and provide our recommendation for how to proceed!
Facebook Ads and Boosts
Boosts:
Encourages increased overall social reach and presence on social media to those more likely to engage in your content
Good for content made for News Feed
Generally for shorter-term goals (e.g. smaller events, campaigns or content for a specific cohort)
Ads:
For larger, longer-term goals where your call to action is strong (larger campaigns, large events)
Increased opportunities for customisation of ads
Increased options for placement within the platform (i.e. looks much more like an ad than a Boosted Post does)
