The UMSU brand has 3 key components:  Logo, Colour, Type. 

When all 3 components are applied correctly and consistently, they will create a powerful and memorable look for UMSU and its departments.

Brand colours

Our main colour is purple. Purple was used historically in political spaces, such as the suffragette movement, and when the Princess Ida Club was established at UniMelb in 1888. By consistently using purple in our designs, we create visual recognition of an UMSU branded design. UMSU is also full of colourful experiences and personalities, and our colours are designed to reflect this diverse spectrum. Our colour palettes are divided into three groups: Primary, Secondary and Neutrals.

Brand Type

Our typography is important as it builds character where images and colour cannot. To keep our messages distinctive, we use 2 main typefaces for our brand where possible:
