When you use an UMSU marquee, you're not just getting a shelter, you're showcasing the UMSU brand. It’s a beacon that screams "UMSU is here!", making our presence felt and recognised at any event.

Running an event can be expensive. By using an UMSU marquee, you save on the cost of renting equipment, plus you’re getting a high-quality, durable shelter that has been tested and proven in various conditions.
Safety
Designed with health and safety in mind, UMSU marquees ensures that all your event staff and attendees are sheltered safely. Our marquees are robust when secured with 30kg weights on each leg, making it resilient against strong winds up to 30km/h.
Requirements for Use
Safety first! Before you can have access to our marquees, you need to complete a training session provided by the Events team. They'll teach you the ins and outs of setting up, packing down, and ensuring the marquee's safety.
Marquee trainings are run regularly during semester. If you'd like to book into a training session, please submit a ticket to the Help Desk for more information.
Once trained, always remember:
- Use closed-toed shoes during the setup.
- Ensure the marquee is weighted correctly.
- Monitor weather conditions. If winds approach or exceed 30km/h, consider packing it down, or dropping the height of the marquee until the weather clears.
- Regularly inspect the marquee for any damage.
